Happy Mother’s Day to all our amazing Mom’s!  You all do so many things for your kids and then spend time creating items for all our kids making all of us Moms.   We ‘sew’ appreciate you.  Before I get into all our news, I have a request.  We have a volunteer who lives in Gilbert at the Morrison Family Farms Development between Warner and Higley and she has had some health problems and is unable to drive, therefore unable to attend Open House.  Does anyone live in that area and would be able to give her a ride?  If so, please email me and I will connect the two of you.  Thanks!!

We have an extra special Open House this month.  At about 10:00 we will have our check presentation from BHHS Legacy, we will add names to our Stitches plaque and the BTSCD Board Members have been invited to see all the cool things we create.   We also will have some special delicious treats.

We are ready for everyone to sign up for our distribution starting with the kids on July 18 at Grand Canyon University.  You can either email me or sign up on actual paper at our Open House.  You can NOT sign up to work in Stitches via the BTSCD website.  Sunday, July 17, will be set up day from 9-about noon.  If you would like to set up a particular item, please let me know.

Here are our basic guidelines for signing up:

For each shift, I will need to know if you have a preferred task.  Sit down jobs are the accessories and we will have 2 per accessories.  If you have no preference, then I will put you where you are needed of which I will probably change as needed until distribution. I can accommodate a few special working times so let me know as soon as possible as I can only have a few special times.

Boys-hats, wallets, pillowcases, paracord bracelets, key chains, Entrance or Exit door or shopping with the kids

Monday July 18  7:30-12:30 or 11:30-4:30

Tuesday, July 19 This is Bank of America Day so no other financial t-shirts/polos can be worn. Thank you for understanding. 7:30-12:30 or 11:30-4:30

Wednesday, July 20  This is Discover Services Day so no other financial t-shirts/polos can be worn.  Thank you for understanding.  7:30-12:30 or 11:30-4:30 and possibly 4:30-7:30 for Luke Air Force Base–more details as they are still being worked out

Thursday, July 21 This will be kids from non-profits and only 7:30-12:30.  For the 11:30-4:30 shift we will be tearing everything down and boxing up.

There are places to eat on campus and I will have more details closer to our event.

Monday morning and sit down jobs all week are filling up quickly, so if this is what you want, please email me ASAP.  The entrance and exit door jobs are the best if you are not comfortable helping and fitting clothing for the kids, this is the place to be.

Thanks Mary for completing our inventory and I am attaching it at the bottom of this email.  It also is on the website. Clothes are the most important but I would like to see more purses for the girls and wallets and pillowcases for the boys.  As with last month, if you don’t think you are going to be able to finish your wallet and pillowcase kits you have taken, please return them so others can take them to finish and turn in at our June Open House.   We have more pillowcase kits to hand out but these will need to be returned in June, not to be held for September.

We will be sewing at 35th Ave Sew and Vac anytime 10-3 on Sunday May 22 and at our BTSCD office 9:30-1:30 on Thursday, May 26.  Please join us!!
