Thank you so much for Mary for covering the meeting for me!  I really appreciate the help in the last month from the Running Stitches committee.  Gloria has been very busy buying wonderful, trendy patterns, so check out the pattern drawer in November.

We had an additional hand out to help with girls clothing and it is attached at the bottom of this post.  If you think a top might be too short, it probably is, so add a couple of inches.  We had some real cute peasant tops in size 5 and 6  and when I had my neighbor’s 5 year old daughter try one on, her first comment was her tummy showing. Her Mom said it was cute but definitely too short. Also all appliques need to be sewn down. I washed a top where it wasn’t sewn and the applique curled up.  If you think your applique is okay, then please wash the item to verify that the applique is secure. If you have any questions, please email us.

Please remember no plain hats.  Thank you Mary for taking the 3 plain red hats and giving them some personality!

Wouldn’t it be awesome if we could offer the larger girls a choice of 2 tops instead of a dress or top and a bottom! The only way we can do that is to greatly increase our top inventory.  Our focus would be size 12 and larger, so make those tops so we can increase our inventory.

We have started the Stitches of Love Runway on Facebook so we have a focus group to help us create more trendy clothing.  This focus group is not for any Stitches members but for Moms, Grandmothers and Aunts who have girls in our ages of 5-11.  If you know of anyone who can help us out, please have them email me their Facebook email address so I can add them.  I will post pictures of items turned in and ask that they give it a thumbs up or an unhappy face and ask them to tell us why their girl didn’t like it.  This will greatly help us without taking up too much of their time.

Our Stitches of Love luncheon will be on Saturday, January 12 at the Beatitudes Campus so we will not have an Open House in January.  Please secure your reservation now so we can try and get as many of the details completed before the holidays.  Deadline to reserve will be December 31.

The Sun City Arts and Crafts Festival is Friday Nov 23 & Sat Nov 24th.  Loretta’s group (Sundial Crafters) will have a booth there raising money for the group to make more stuff for Stitches.  Here’s the website:  http://suncityaz.org/events/sun-city-arts-crafts-festival/2018-11-23/

If anyone needs some inspiration and ideas on various patterns, Cindy Adams offered that people could look at her boards on Pinterest.  Her Pinterest user name is CAdams1306.

Bernadette turned in a real cute tulip purse.  This is a copyrighted pattern and the cost is $12.00, so we are unable to share the pattern.  Their website is www.anythingbutboring.com.  They also have a you tube video that you can view

We will not be having any Yarn it Forward or sewing days at the BTSCD office until February.  We will continue to have sewing day at 35th Ave Sew and Vac on Sunday October 28 and November 25.  We will not be there in December.

Many, many thanks for everything you create for the kids!  Our next Open House will be Saturday, November 10, and I saw on the City of Phoenix parade list that the Veterans Day parade will be on Monday.
