Hi everyone!

Our last Open House this year is going to be a bit different, no meeting just drop off your items and select supplies.  Why you ask?   Back to School has been very busy filling 5,000 backpacks for the kids and needs our meeting area for storage.  So we are going to adapt by not holding a meeting.  I will still recap my thoughts and send them out after Open House.  The biggest, most important thing is for you all to bring in your completed items!  We really need to have a selection of items for 5,000 plus kids!  Also if you have any pillowcase kits, please either finish them and bring them in or return the kits so I can have someone finish them by distribution.  I believe Gloria, Walt/Kay and I cut just enough kits for 2,500 boys.

If you want to continue to work on items, please bring your items to the BTSCD by Friday, June 29.  It is very important that you call the BTSCD office to confirm that someone will be there when you want to drop off.  The office number is 602-256-9408.

I will have the distribution sign up sheets available and we desperately need volunteers for all shifts but Monday morning.

I am still planning on having Will there to sharpen your scissors so please bring them in a zip lock bag with your name/cell phone number and he will work on them while you are dropping off your inventory and selecting your supplies. Scissors are $4.00 but he also will sharpen knives and gardening tools.

I need to know if anyone is attending Yarn it Forward on Monday, June 11.  If no one lets me know that they are coming, then I will not be at the BTSCD offices that day.  We are however having a Thursday Terrors sew day (or the best we can do with our limited space and our work day crew there) on Thursday, June 7.  Our next Thursday Terrors sew day would be Thursday, June 21.  Does anyone want to come?  Please let me know and I will be there.  We will not have Yarn it Forward or Thursday Terrors Sew Day for the months of July or August.

A sew day has been added on Thursday, June 28 at the Bernina Connection at 4219 E. Indian School from 10:00-2:00.  The plan is to work on dresses in an assembly line fashion.  We did that last time and it worked very well.

I hope I see you at Open House!

Sandy
