The Student Attire For Education (SAFE) Program, founded by Stardust Chairman and CEO Jerry Bisgrove, is a matching voucher program operated by Back to School in conjunction with Maricopa County school operating under mandatory school uniform policies. BTS will match funding from these schools up to $2,500 annually and provide school uniforms to the schools for their clothes “lockers or closets.” Schools wishing to participate must submit the attached application and, when approved, provide the matching funding to us. Here is a brief summary of the requirements:

Fill out the attached application directly on your computer, save it as your school’s name and e-mail the application to btscda@qwest.net. BTS is no longer accepting faxed copies of the SAFE application. Soon, you will be able to fill out the application directly online at our web site.

  • You will receive notification indicating the status of your grant application.
  • Only schools with mandatory uniform wear policies can apply.
  • The maximum amount for any SAFE grant is $2,500 per school, per year. It can be applied for at one time (the preferred method), or in smaller amounts throughout the year.
  • Schools can purchase either first quality uniforms or irregulars (if available) for their uniform closets.
  • Grants will only be issued upon the receipt of matching funds from the school.
  • All grants are fulfilled by our vendor agency, the Back to School Uniform Store. They will fulfill your orders, track your spend rates up to your approve amount, and deliver the clothing to your school.
  • Grants will be approved until the current-year program budget is depleted, first come, first served.

The SAFE program is a year-round program. More than 5,000 school children benefit from this year-round program. For more information on the program call 623-842-1727 or btscda@qwest.net.
