The Back to School Clothing Drive, which has provided school supplies and clothing to more than 535,000 students since 1967, hosts its 50th Anniversary celebration with a Golden Masquerade Gala, Saturday, January 20, 2018, 6 – 10 pm.

Individual tickets are $175. Tables of ten are $1,750 and sponsorship opportunities range from $2,500 to $25,000. To purchase a ticket or table click here.

The event will take place at Phoenix Art Museum, 1625 N. Central Avenue, where the 50th Anniversary Champions for Children will be recognized. They are Brian Mueller, Grand Canyon University; Jerry Wissink, BHHS Legacy Foundation; James . Rice, Alhambra Elementary School District (retired); and Kenneth Jacobson, Avnet.

The event begin at 6 p.m. with a reception, silent auction and raffle. Dinner, live auction, 50th-year appeal and awards begin at 7:30 p.m. Dress is masquerade attire, mask encouraged |Black-tie optional.

For the past 14 years, BHHS Legacy Foundation’s Backpack Buddies program has been the catalyst behind Back to School Clothing Drive’s successful New Clothes Beginnings annual summer distribution event. During that time, over 126,000 K-6 grade elementary school children throughout the Valley and Northern Arizona received new school clothing and school supplies.

Celebrating it’s 50th year of serving Valley school children, Back to School Clothing Drive (www.btscd.com) provides new school uniforms and outfits, backpacks and school supplies to children in need. Since 1967, more than 2.1 million uniforms have been distributed. More than 3,000 volunteers donate over 350,000 hours to the effort every year. Through its three programs, the New Clothes, New Beginnings Distribution; Student Attire for Education Matching Grant and Online Retail Store; and Stitches of Love, more than 25,000 kids attending over 260 Title 1 public elementary schools in 30 school districts benefit from its programs annually.
